I thought this exchange was “quaint” and amusing:
Josh: Do we have evidence for the fact that God doesn’t exist except for the fact that we don’t know whether or not he does? I mean, is there scientific evidence that says no one was responsible for this in the same way there’s scientific evidence for evolution?
mik: It’s not science’s responsibility to prove things don’t exist.
Josh: No, I know, I know…but…yeah…just…
mik: Like unicorns.
Josh: right…
*awkward silence*
Josh: right…
To Announcer Guy: Have you seen that movie “Man on Wire”?
To mik: You said, “I just didn’t take advantage of the opportunity to learn some shit that I could’ve learned.”
Can’t you just go to a damn library? Aren’t there libraries in Utah?
You also seem to be a closet atheist. Maybe this video will help you come out:

To Josh: You said, “The idea of saying ‘I don’t believe in God’ is scary.”
There are seven things I want to point out:
1) People who identify themselves as atheists are a little bit more diverse than the media stereotypes would like you to believe.

2) Atheism is not the same thing as antitheism.
3) Antitheism is not about disproving the existence of God. Antitheists usually excoriate what they believe to be the harmful effects of religion and promote the benefits of secular humanism.
4) Atheists are widely discriminated against in our society. The ones who push back shouldn’t be compared to the most avid and bigoted theists.
5) Many of the atheists you might consider to be “uncompromisingly intolerant” have churchgoing friends and come from religious families.
6) You could probably have a great conversation with someone like Christopher Hitchens and learn a lot from him – and even come to respect him. I can’t say the same thing about Fred Phelps.
7) There are indeed some extremist nonbelievers like Michel Onfray, but their representation among atheists is so low as to render them irrelevant.
Thanks, volk. Great video.
I’m evidence of your #5. There aren’t many more conservative and religious environments to be raised in than small-town Utah.
Oh, and this is my favorite video about atheists–and the reason I said I love Kirk Cameron:

That may have been the most homoerotic thing I have ever seen and the fact he believed everything is the greatest part.
Great episode guys, but where the hell was Ssooch this time?
